About this organization
Mission
Lead Virginia is building a high level network of strategically embedded leaders who are shaping their communities and the Commonwealth's future. With new perspective and expanded capacity, communities are benefitting from leadership that is thinking creatively, learning from others as they face their common challenges, and sharing resources through collaboration. Lead Virginia offers an annual intensive educational forum with seven regional sessions featuring the vast and diverse landscape of Virginia's communities. The common thread uniting these seven sessions is a curriculum centered on economy, education and workforce, and health. Regional sessions feature experiential site visits, thought provoking discussions, and a collegial experience that forges new thinking around the challenges facing our Commonwealth. A new framework emerges around a shared statewide perspective and an appreciation for our role as stakeholders and stewards of Virginia. Local leaders are empowered to effect change, creative energy is unleashed and precious resources are leveraged to bring benefit to many.
