Emergency response: because sustainable economic development also depends on a healthy planet, World Hope International responds responsibly to natural disasters as well as works to build disaster resiliency in vulnerable communities around the world. In 2018, World Hope International responded to 10 emergencies globally, including Typhoon Yutu, Hurricane Michael, the California wildfires, a volcano in Guatemala, and an earthquake in Papua New Guinea. We work closely with partners to provide the best possible response and delivered 50,000 lbs of emergency supplies with 150 flights to remote communities in Florida after Hurricane Michael, supplied 40 air scrubbers to hospitals and shelters during the California wildfires, and provided safe drinking water to 350 people living in shelters following Typhoon Yutu in Saipan.
