To provide underserved youth with personal, academic and professional development experiences that increase participation in higher education and access to fulfilling science careers.

Since the program's inception in 1992, over 3,200 students have participated in Biotech Academy and have collectively earned over $3.4 million to date. Biotech Partners operates its program in Berkeley High School (1993), Oakland Technical High School (1996), Antioch High School (2015), South San Francisco High (2015-17), and San Marin High (2016) and partners with the Peralta Community College District. Biotech Partners' two-year high school program component includes a hands-on lab-focused curriculum and a bioscience industry internship between the 11th and 12th grade years. Students continuing their bioscience education in Biotech Partners' community college Bioscience Career Institute (BCI) program number approximately 550. Year-long paid training jobs in the bioscience field are an integral part of the BCI program whereby students work part-time during the two-year program while taking core math and science courses in the Peralta Community College District.
