The core services of Center for Domestic Peace include an emergency shelter, 24/7 hotlines, transitional housing, support groups, advocacy, a children and youth initiative, and programs for men and women who have been violent (ManKind and WomanKind). These core services promote the safety and empowerment of domestic violence victims. During FY 17/18, these programs provided services to 6,004 individuals as follows: 1. Answered 4,454 hotline calls, providing safety planning, emotional support, referrals, and information.2. Provided emergency shelter for 187 victims and 149 children and dependents for a total of 7,970 bednights, along with other supportive services such as food, transportation, clothing, and other basic necessities.3. Provided transitional housing via 21 separate units to 33 adults and 66 children and dependents for a total of 22,191 bednights, together with economic self-sufficiency planning and activities, occupational empowerment, case management, and assistance in securing permanent long-term housing.4. Provided advocacy and assistance within the legal and criminal justice system to 454 individuals through 3,002 sessions.5. Operated Marin Youth Services and Transforming Communities: Marin, which provided: advocacy to 98 youth/young adults; parent/child group therapy to 68 non-abusing parents and 103 children; and leadership engagement activities to 47 youth and young adults as interns/volunteers in shaping services for youth.6. Provided non-residential support groups to 52 participants.7. Educated 126 men through ManKind and 37 women through WomanKind to teach them skills to stop their violent behavior.
