Mission

CFFR is about changing lives and making a significant impact in the welfare of kittens/cats in Colorado and surrounding states.

About

An all-volunteer foster based rescue that acts quickly and efficiently to help kittens/cats in need. We run in a more flexible manner than many of the large shelter-based rescues with a high operating budget. 100% of our expenses are directly related to the intake, medical care, and adoption efforts for our kittens/cats, as we have no staff or “brick and mortar” overhead expenses. In July of 2020, our three founders saw the need for a foster-based feline rescue that would work with the kittens/cats that other rescues would not accept because of medical issues, or because they lacked the experience to care for naturally high-risk neonate kittens. Colorado Feline Foster Rescue (CFFR), a 501(c)(3), was founded with about 50 fosters who followed our president from her previous rescue, believing in our mission. Most of our volunteer families have many years of experience in fostering, attending to the medical needs of kittens/cats in their care. Our president has a long history of partnering with local and out-of-state facilities to provide care for as many kittens/cats as possible.” Also end of last sentence should say Pilots N Paws, Humane Society of Deaf Smith County, Friends of Texas Panhandle Shelter Pets, Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter, Montrose Animal Shelter, Humane Society of South Platte Valley, as well as other shelters who approach us to help a pet experiencing medical needs. Our veterinarian, Dr. Kerry Madole, together with our CVT, Ruth Brunner, handle our more advanced medical needs. To help support our relationship with out-of-state organizations, the cats are transported either by ground or by air by Pilots N Paws. We have grown to a diverse network of 75+ foster families, with an average of 4 years of fostering experience. We are currently working on building our adult cat foster program, as there is a significant need for experienced foster families who are able to provide a temporary home for adult cats who may have higher socialization or medical needs.
