WELCOMED 21,080 PETS AT OUR TWO OPEN-ADMISSION SHELTERS, THE LESLIE A. MALONE CENTER IN DENVER AND THE BUDDY CENTER IN CASTLE ROCK, INCLUDING 4,015 ACCEPTED FROM OTHER SHELTERS. FOUND HOMES FOR 14,350 PETS, INCLUDING 454 CATS THROUGH OUR WORKING CAT PROGRAM. ACCEPTED AND FOUND HOMES FOR 2,474 PETS FROM OTHER SHELTERS AND RESCUE GROUPS. REUNITED 1,827 LOST PETS WITH THEIR OWNERS. SAW 2,807 PETS RECEIVE FOSTER CARE IN THE HOMES OF 426 VOLUNTEERS. HELPED 6,117 PETS IN OUR IN-SHELTER BEHAVIOR PROGRAMS. PROVIDED 453 FREE BEHAVIOR HELPLINE CONSULTATIONS. PROVIDED OVER 80 DIFFERENT BEHAVIOR HANDOUTS TO PET OWNERS AND SHELTERS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY.EQUINE SHELTERING SERVICES:THE DUMB FRIENDS LEAGUE HARMONY EQUINE CENTER IS A PRIVATE REHABILITATION AND ADOPTION FACILITY FOR ABUSED AND NEGLECTED HORSES, PONIES, DONKEYS AND MULES THAT HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THEIR OWNERS BY LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES. HARMONY ALSO SERVES AS A CENTRAL HUB WHERE HORSES FROM HUMANE SOCIETIES AND RESCUE GROUPS IN THE MIDWEST AND THE SOUTHWESTERN UNITED STATES CAN RECEIVE TRAINING AND REHOMING. IN MARCH 2018, HARMONY BEGAN OPENING ITS DOORS TO PRIVATELY OWNED COLORADO HORSES IN NEED OF REHOMING. SINCE HARMONY OPENED IN 2012, MORE THAN 1,500 HORSES HAVE BEEN HELPED.WHEN FORMERLY ABUSED AND NEGLECTED HORSES AND OTHER EQUINES ARRIVE AT THE HARMONY EQUINE CENTER, THEY'RE GIVEN IMMEDIATE MEDICAL CARE TO RELIEVE THEIR SUFFERING. ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN PERMANENTLY SURRENDERED TO THE CENTER, THEY ARE EVALUATED FOR REHABILITATION AND ADOPTION. DURING FISCAL YEAR 2019, THE DUMB FRIENDS LEAGUE HARMONY EQUINE CENTER: RECEIVED 364 EQUINES, INCLUDING 247 THAT WERE BROUGHT TO THE CENTER BY LAW ENFORCEMENT. FOUND HOMES FOR 200 EQUINES. TRANSFERRED OUT 35 EQUINES TO PLACEMENT PARTNERS. PLACED 100 PERCENT OF OUR HEALTHY AND SAFE EQUINES.
