About this organization
Mission
To provide supplemental food to the needy and to empower them towards economic stability by giving individuals and families assistance during difficult times.
About
Feeding Santa Fe distributed from our drive-thru food pantry over 47,000 bags of groceries in 2018, including perishable and non-perishable items. Each bag contained one dozen eggs, two large potatoes, a 1-lb. bag of either dried pinto beans, brown or white rice or pasta, two canned vegetables, a bread product and fresh produce, either donated or purchased at wholesale prices, including: broccoli, beets, leafy greens, Swiss chard, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, various squash, onions, cucumbers, apples, bananas, peaches, pears, oranges and clementines. Beginning in 2015, as part of an outreach initiative to identify those in need but who were not aware of our program or could not reach us due to disability or transportation issues, additional distributions were made for the Head Start Home Visiting Program run by Presbyterian Medical Services and for at-risk seniors identified by the Santa Fe County Department of Health and Human Services. A collaboration was established with the NM County Extension Office in Santa Fe to develop nutritious recipes and to develop tips for safe handling of foods we distribute.
