For 40 years, Silver Horizons Mission has been to provide critical help to extremely low-income seniors, and the grandchildren they are raising. Silver Horizons helps with lifes basics: food, household bills, and minor home repairs/retrofits. Most of the seniors we assist live on less than $900 per month. Our Vision is to see seniors living safe and secure, in their own homes, with enough food to eat.

Household Bill Assistance:Silver Horizons helps low-income seniors pay important household bills. Many of the seniors we assist have either past-due bills, or they have received disconnect notices. Silver Horizons assists with water, landline telephone, internet, vet bills for seniors pets, electric, gas, firewood and propane (if primary source of heat) and rent. Minor Home Repairs/Retrofits:Silver Horizons assist with minor home repairs and retrofits. We help with any repair under $1,000. Silver Horizons is proud to announce a new partnership with CREW: Community Renovation Empowering Women. Together, CREW and Silver Horizons help more and more seniors with minor home repairs.Food Distribution:Our goal is to provide about two-weeks worth of groceries (monthly) to about 3,500 impoverished seniors and to nearly 1,200 grandchildren many of these seniors are raising. Free groceries are distributed in Albuquerque, Belen and Tijeras, primarily through food pantries and home deliveries.
