Youth Development: Healthy Out of School Time (HOST) For generations YMCA's have provide healthy and safe out of school programs for the Michigan Children,The State Alliance will assist local YMCA's in improving and expanding their work. Through the utilization of evidence based programs guided by the Center for Disease Control recommendations, compliance with the YMCA of the USA's Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Standards and serving as United States Department of Agriculture approved feeding sites, local YMCA's are expanding opportunities for healthy lives. The State Alliance will provide assistance to this initiative on serving Michigan's most vulnerable children (based on Free and reduced lunch data). Safety Around water the State Alliance will coordinate the statewide implementation of community based programs that allow all children to be safe around water.
