About this organization
Mission
The mission of GSI is to provide guardianship and supports and services for at-risk adults in Tarrant County. The mission of the Financial Exploitation Prevention Center of Tarrant County is to create a unified network of partners committed to the prevention and protection of vulnerable adults against financial exploitation in Tarrant County.
About
In Tarrant County, concerned individuals can refer wards directly to the court, rather than having to hire an attorney. This court-initiated procedure allows Guardianship Services, Inc. ('GSI') to avoid the conflict of interest many companies face when they both present proof of need to the court, and then serve as a guardian. Guardians are certified by the Texas Guardianship Certification Board, and adhere to standards created by the board. Tarrant County Probate Courts appointed GSI as guardian to 30 at-risk adult residents for the year ended September 30, 2019. GSI also continued to serve as guardian for 372 clients for whom the agency had been appointed in previous years.
