About

The Food Bank for Larimer County (FBLC, we, us, our) works to ensure that no one goes hungry in Larimer County. We are a nonprofit organization that acts as a centralized agency collecting, storing, and distributing salvageable, usable food to a variety of nonprofit agencies and low-income individuals. Each year, we provide food to more than 37,500 people in need through community partnerships and hunger-relief programsWe collect food and funds from a variety of sources, including businesses, farms, food drives, individuals, and Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization. Food donations are distributed to individuals in need through three overlapping and integrated programs: Fresh Food Share, Nourishing Network and Nutritious Kitchen. Fresh Food Share is the Food Bank's direct connection to those in need, providing fruits, vegetables, bread, meat and dairy to more than 14,000 Larimer County residents each month. Nourishing Network allows us to distribute quality food through other nonprofit organizations in the community including more than 100 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, snack programs, Backpack, Kids Link, childcare and residential programs and centers for the disabled. Through our member agencies, the Backpack program provided over 30,000 back packs to children in need with a weekend food pack filled with nutritious, non-perishable items. In partnership with the Junior League of Fort Collins, Kids Link provided over 124,000 healthy, individually packaged snacks to all qualifying schools in Poudre and Thompson School Districts. Nutritious Kitchen addresses the serious issue of food insecurity among children and seniors in need through two programs: Kids Cafe and senior meals program. Through Kids Cafe, we serve over 42,000 meals to eligible school-aged children. Nutritious Kitchen also partners with Volunteers of America to serve over 22,000 meals to seniors (age 60+) in need through a congregate senior meal program at eight sites throughout the county.
