PARTICIPANTS SERVED 81.SUMMER DAY CAMPS: CAMPERS ENJOY A VARIETY OF FUN FILLED ACTIVITIES INCLUDING DAILY RECREATIONAL GAMES, CRAFTS, AND SWIMMING. CAMPERS WILL REGISTER IN THEIR FAVORITE THEMED CAMPS AND COMPLETE ACTIVITIES AND FIELD TRIPS BASED ON THAT SPECIFIC CAMP. PARTICIPANTS SERVED 2,038.WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTION PROGRAM: THROUGH THE "SPLASH" PROGRAM, PARTICIPANTS LEARN BASIC SWIMMING SKILLS AND PRACTICE SAFETY HABITS WHILE IN AND AROUND THE WATER, WHICH RESULTS IN A SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT AND INCREASED SELF-CONFIDENCE AND SECURITY WHILE NEAR THE WATER FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS ARE STRENGTHENED WHEN THEY PARTICIPATE IN THE AUXILIARY SAFETY ACTIVITIES AT HOME PARTICIPANTS RECOGNIZE NEW ROLE MODELS AND MAKE FRIENDS AS THE SPLASH PROGRAM OFTEN COLLABORATES WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS AND OTHER COMMUNITY RESOURCES TO EDUCATE CHILDREN ON WATER SAFETY. TEENS MEET IN THEIR LOCAL YOUTH IN GOVERNMENT GROUPS TO DISCUSS AND DEBATE ISSUES THAT AFFECT CITIZENS OF THEIR STATE AND TO PROPOSE LEGISLATION THE PROGRAM CULMINATES WITH TEENS SERVING AS DELEGATES AT THEIR STATE CONFERENCE, DEBATING BILLS ON THE FLOOR OF THE LEGISLATURE. PARTICIPANTS SERVED 30.YOUTH SPORTS AND RECREATION: THE YMCA NURTURES THE POTENTIAL OF CHILDREN THROUGH THE YOUTH SPORTS PROGRAMMING BY STRENGTHENING CHARACTER IN OUR YOUTH, ENGAGING FAMILIES AND BUILDING LASTING RELATIONSHIPS. PARTICIPANTS IN THESE PROGRAMS BUILD SKILLS, LEARN ABOUT TEAMWORK, AND FOCUS ON SPORTSMANSHIP.
