Oakland School is a small co-ed boarding and day school that enables bright children who have learning disabilities, adhd or organizational difficulties to reach their academic and personal potential. Oakland's mission is three-fold: 1) to provide students with the tools to learn; 2) to instill in students confidence required to reach their academic and personal potential; 3) and ultimately to enable students to successfully transition to a traditional classroom at their appropriate grade level. The combination of daily one-to-one instruction, and emphasis on basic skills including Oakland's specialty of teaching reading, a highly-experienced and nurturing staff and a success-oriented environment has enabled scores of children to reach their academic and personal potential since 1950.
