In 2018, the ERC conducted 701 civil rights tests designed to identify unlawful discrimination in housing, employment, and access to public accommodations. The ERC also trained housing professionals and members of the community in fair housing and accessible design & construction. The ERC launched a web-based app called Accessa11y. This app crowdsources wheelchair accessibility information for restaurants and retail stores in the Washington, DC metro area & the New York metropolitan area. In 2018, the ERC also developed a new e-learning course to educate housing providers about fair housing requirements specific to DC.
