About

KITTEN KRAZY WAS FORMED IN MAY 2004 AND DESIGNATED AS A NONPROFIT AS OF AUGUST 4, 2004 TO HELP THE LOST, ABANDONED, STRAY AND UNWANTED CATS AND KITTENS IN MEDINA COUNTY AND ITS SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES FIND A PLACE OF REFUGE. ONCE IN OUR CARE, THE CATS ARE TYPICALLY FULLY VETTED WITHIN THE FIRST FEW HOURS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF SPAY/NEUTER, WHICH IS SCHEDULED WITHIN THEIR 14-DAY QUARANTINE HOLD TO ENSURE THEY ARE HEALTHY ENOUGH FOR SURGERY. ONCE CATS ARE DEEMED HEALTHY, THEY ARE PLACED IN ONE OF SEVERAL FREE-ROAMING ADOPTION ROOMS WHERE THE GOAL IS TO FIND THEM THEIR NEW FOREVER HOME. SINCE WE ARE A PRIVATE SHELTER, WE DO NOT QUALIFY FOR GOVERNMENT FUNDING AT THE LOCAL, STATE OR FEDERAL LEVELS. INSTEAD, WE RELY ON OUR ADOPTION FEES, FUNDRAISING AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, CORPORATE AND INDIVIDUAL DONORS, TO HELP US WITH OUR MISSION TO ENSURE THAT ONE DAY THERE WILL BE NO MORE HOMELESS CATS AND KITTENS. OUR PRIMARY FUNDRAISING EVENT IS HELD ANNUALLY IN SEPTEMBER CALLED THE "SPAY-GHETTI AND NO BALLS DINNER- AND IS WELL-ATTENDED. OUR FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, WENDY MIRROTTO, CREATED A TV SHOW CALLED CAT CHAT TO PROVIDE VIEWERS WITH INFORMATION ABOUT CAT BEHAVIOR, MEDICAL ISSUES, AND KITTEN KRAZY ADOPTABLE CATS. THE SHOW HAS BEEN SO SUCCESSFUL THAT WE CELEBRATED OUR 100TH EPISODE ON JULY 27, 2018 BEFORE A LIVE AUDIENCE. TOTAL VOLUNTEER HOURS FOR 2018 WERE 9,998.5 HOURS. AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2018, KITTEN KRAZY HAS PLACED OVER 5,546 FULLY VETTED CATS AND KITTENS.
