The organization is the outgrowth of two entities-the Akron Woman's City Club and the Akron Woman's City Club Civic Affairs, Inc. Originally formed in 1923 to provide women the opportunity to meet and have an open forum for the presentation and discussion of all the subjects pertaining to education, civic and philanthropic improvement of the community.
