Social Services and Advocacy-CSCM is Minnesota's leading Somali social service and advocacy agency, working to help Somalis meet the challenges of daily life in the United States. Our connections to the Somali community and decades of experience put us unique position to help clients navigate complex systems, including but not limited to, public housing, education, medical care, legal assistance, and public assistance. More than 2500 people were served.Shaqodoon Employment Solutions-Shaqodoon seeks to build empowerment through employment, creating new opportunities for Somali youth and families to find living-wage jobs and build careers. Shaqodoon creates equity in Minnesota by helping young people find jobs, cultivate new skills, and get the education they need to succeed. More than 300 people were served. Newcomer Academy Program-CSCMs Newcomer Academy is designed to bridge the gap between newly arrived refugee students and their peers, helping give these students the skills they need to succeed in high school, college, and their careers. Our Newcomer Academy program is focused on improving English and academic proficiency, developing leadership skills, supporting and fostering emotional wellbeing, and building more stable families. More than 250 students were served.
