THE DULUTH CHILDREN'S MUSEUM PROVIDES CHILDREN WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPLORE SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, MATHEMATICS, HSITORY AND ART THRU INFORMAL PLAY AND PROGRAMS THAT SPARK CURIOUSITY AND WONDER. ALSO, THERE ARE PROGRAMS THAT OUTREACH TO THEIR CLASSROOMS, COMMUNITY CENTERS AND PROVIDE FOR AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS.

EXHIBITS AND PROGRAMS AND OUTREACH: PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED DAILY AND PROVIDE VISITORS WITH UNIQUE LEARNING EXPERIENCES IN THE AREAS OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, MATHEMATICS, HISTORY, AND ART. MUSEUM STAFF USE A VARIETY OF LEARNING TOOLS AND INCORPORATE MINNESOTA STATE EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS TO TEACH CONCEPTS SUCH AS MAGENTISM AND CHEMICAL REACTION TO DULUTH HISTORY AND WORLD CULTURALS. THE MUSEUM OWNS AND LEASES MANY INTERACTIVE EDUCATIONAL EXHIBITS. MUSEUM STAFF PROVIDE OUTREACH TO NUMEROUS CLASSROOMS, COMMUNITY CENTERS, AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS WHICH IMPACT THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT SUPPLEMENT CLASSROOM LEARNING AND YOUTH PROGRAMS. MEMBERSHIP, ADMISSION AND GIFT SHOP: THE MUSEUM OPERATES AS AN ATTRACTION WITH OVER 25,000 ANNUAL VISITORS AND 2,400 ANNUAL MEMBERS. AS AN ORGANIZATION COMMITTED TO PROVIDING ACCESS TO THE WHOLE COMMUNITY, A PASSPORT TO CULTURE PROGRAM HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO DISTRIBUTE OVER 300 SCHOLARSHIP MEMBERSHIPS TO FAMILIES EXPERIENCING FINANCIAL HARDSHIP. IN ADDITION, AS A MUSEUM'S FOR ALL AND BLUE STAR MUSEUM PARTNER, LOW COST ADMISSION IS AVAILABLE TO VISITORS WITH A VALID EBT OR ACTIVE MILITARY ID. ON THE FIRST FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH, THE MUSEUM IS OPEN WITH FREE ADMISSION ON THE EVENING. THE GIFT SHOP PROVIDES MISSION-ORIENTED TOYS AND GAMES FOR SALE TO CONTINUE LEARNING AND EXPLORATION AT HOME.
