About

In 2019 Foci MCGA taught the magic of glass to 1750 through a hand-on single day glass experience class. 298 students and adult learners attended one of our science of glass demonstrations, where attendees watched a narrated demonstration of a local glassblowing artist create a one of kind artwork. 201 adult students took multiple week glass classes that ranged from introductory courses, to advanced technical workshop. 51 students under 18 attended one of our twelve glass summer camp programs. Mobile glass program attended four offsite events in 2019. At the 2019 Northern Spark event, Foci MCGA illuminated the evening with a neon glass art display and torch working demonstration that over 4000 people attended. Foci MCGA also taught 1200 people how to polish glass at the American Craft Council show in April 2019. Also, our mobile glassblowing studio attended the Minnesota State Fair and the Benton County Fair, where over 30,000 people enjoyed a glassblowing demonstration. Additionally, over 2000 people attended one of Foci MCGA's open house events that are free to all to attend.
