About
Mattie N. Dixon Community Cupboard, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been meeting the needs of local individuals and families whose incomes fall within 150% of Federal poverty guidelines since 1973. The Cupboard was founded by Mattie N. Dixon, a longtime resident of Ambler. Learn more about our history here. We offer many services to our community including: an extensive list of food items (including fresh produce, dairy, frozen meats and baked goods); a boutique with clothing and household items; annual holiday programs; back to school backpack program; and, when available, financial assistance in emergency situations. Our case manager helps families who visit the food cupboard apply for benefits and learn about community resources. We also have a nurse screening program once every month. And the Rising Stars Homework Club helps children in elementary school develop academic and social skills.
