Founded in 1971, Unity House is a not-for-profit, human services agency that plays an integral role in empowering the most vulnerable citizens of the capital district in upstate NY. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for people living in poverty, adults with mental illness, victims of domestic violence, children with developmental delays and their families, people living with HIV/AIDS, and others whose needs can effectively be met by Unity House services and philosophy. Unity House provides direct service to those in need and works toward social justice. A child's place - provides a number of services such as day care, early intervention, and preschool developmental evaluations for children from birth to five years, with developmental services in speech/language, physical and occupational therapy, psychological consultation and general skills. A traveling summer day camp is open to low income, inner city youth ages 5-12 offering nature walks, trips to state parks, swimming, sports and arts and crafts.
