Mission

Loyola Institute for Spirituality works to promote a faith that does justice, in the tradition of St. Ignatius of Loyola. We bring spirituality to life by inviting spiritual seekers to transformation, fostering Ignatian formation and education, and nurturing discipleship.

About

Loyola Institute for Spirituality (LIS) was founded in 1997 to bring Ignatian Spirituality to people in their everyday lives. LIS was founded with the same intention St. Ignatius of Loyola identified when he adapted his Spiritual Exercises from a 30-day retreat into a more accessible 9-month retreat to be done amidst one's daily activities. Our origins were as a retreat house but the Jesuits felt that asking retreatants to come to them was not as powerful or meaningful as bringing the Spiritual Exercises and Spiritual Formation Programs to meet people where they are. LIS provides opportunities for spiritual engagement and development for all seekers of spiritual freedom and relationship with our Creator. We provide opportunities for individual study, leadership development, retreats, special events, and groups.
