Leadership Institute is designed to broaden and develop the skills and networking of existing and emerging leaders, challenge critical thinking, expose leaders to new perspectives, offer opportunities to make an impact, and inspire individuals to lead and serve in new ways. The program runs annually from September to June with 50 participants. Programs completed by participants include a leadership retreat and curriculum topics including history and economy of the valley, health and social services, media, government and public policy, infrastructure, education, community engagement, and arts and culture. Leaders at all stages of their careers find the program a life changing endeavor that has allowed them to go to the next level in their careers and personal lives. The participants experience an increased awareness and understanding of community, develop leadership skills, have the opportunity to apply the skills to community issues, and create a broad network of personal and professional relationships.
