  • The first full year of our existence, 2018, was about building out relationships with stakeholders to set the stage for future growth. we laid the groundwork for our three programs, events, content, and collaboration.the center hosts events to bring together entrepreneurs, investors, policy experts, governments, humanitarians, journalists, and new city developers. in 2018 we held our first charter cities event in san francisco. we had 60 attendees, with speakers including tyler cowen and tom w. bell.our content spreads the idea of charter cities. in 2018 we developed our content, including a working paper series, blog, newsletter, and podcast. we work with new city developments and governments to figure out how to implement charter cities. in 2018 we formed a partnership with nkwashi, a new city development in zambia. we are working with them and the zambian government to create the best place to do business in sub-saharan africa.
