OPERATION OF RAGS & WAGS THRIFT STORE THAT GENERATES INCOME, PROVIDES CLOTHES, HOUSEHOLD GOODS AND FURNITURE TO SHOPPERS AT RESONABLE PRICES. CURRENT YEAR ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE: 1. OVER THE PAST YEAR THE LEMHI COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY HAS WORKED DILIGENTLY TO UPDATE OUR ONLINE PRESENCE BY REWORKING OUR WEBSITE WWW.SALMONANIMALSHELTER.COM) SO THAT IT IS MORE READABLE ON PHONES AND TABLETS. AT THE SHELTER WE ARE NOW USING A SOFTWARE PACKAGE TO TRACK OUR ANIMALS AND TO SEAMLESSLY UPLOAD PHOTOS AND PET BIOS TO THE MOST COMMONLY USED SEARCH ENGINES FOR FINDING PETS, PETFINDER AND PETSTABLISHED. 2. AT THE ODD FELLOWS BUILDING, WHICH HOUSES OUR THRIFT STORE, WE HAVE TAKEN IT UPON OURSELVES TO INSTALL A NEW HANDICAP LIFT SO THAT PEOPLE IN WHEELCHAIRS AND WITH OTHER MOBILITY ISSUES CAN EASILY GET TO THE SECOND FLOOR. IN ADDITION, WE ARE REMODELING OUR BATHROOMS TO BE ADA COMPLIANT. WE ARE DOING THIS ON OUR OWN VOLITION, USING BOTH FUNDS FROM OUR THRIFT STORE OPERATIONS AS WELL AS MONEY THAT WE'VE RECEIVED THROUGH TWO GRANT PROPOSALS. WE'VE ALSO INSTALLED TWO LARGE AIR CONDITIONING UNITS THAT KEEP THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE BUILDING COOL. THE SECOND FLOOR HOUSES THE ONLY STAGE IN TOWN, AND IS USED BY A VARIETY OF PERFORMING ARTS GROUPS, INCLUDING THE HIGH SCHOOL.
