Mission

Our mission is to engage Christian faith communities in ending family homelessness through neighboring relationships that demonstrate Christ's love. This is done through a three-way partnership between the family facing homelessness, a professional case-manager and a group of Neighboring Volunteers from a local church to provide tangible support, encouragement and social capital.

About

BRIDGE OF HOPE NATIONAL OFFERS A VARIETY OF RESOURCES TO ENGAGE CHRISTIAN FAITH COMMUNITIES IN ENDING AND PREVENTING HOMELESSNESS FOR FAMILIES (PRIMARILY SINGLE WOMEN AND CHILDREN) THROUGH THE TRAINING OF NEIGHBORING VOLUNTEERS, PROFESSIONAL CASE MANAGEMENT AND RENTAL ASSISTANCE FUNDS. THIS PAST YEAR HAS BEEN ANOTHER EXHILARATING ONE. HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 2018-19 FISCAL YEAR INCLUDE BRIDGE OF HOPE BEING NAMED BY USA TODAY AS ONE OF "5 CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS PARENTS CAN LEAN ON IN TIMES OF NEED." WE SERVED FAMILIES AND NEIGHBORING VOLUNTEERS IN 19 LOCATIONS IN 12 STATES INCLUDING 206 WOMEN AND CHILDREN BEING SERVED THROUGH THE HELP OF 376 NEIGHBORING VOLUNTEERS. 81% OF FAMILIES EXITING BRIDGE OF HOPE IN 2018-2019 HAD SAFE AND SUSTAINABLE HOUSING AND 93% OF FAMILIES EXITING BRIDGE OF HOPE IN 2018 -2019 WERE EMPLOYED. BRIDGE OF HOPE IS NOW BEING IMPLEMENTED IN 3 NEW COMMUNITIES IN TEXAS AND VIRGINIA. IN ADDITION, WE RECENTLY ROLLED OUT WHOLE FAMILY CASE MANAGEMENT ACROSS OUR NETWORK, TO ASSURE THAT CHILDREN RECEIVE ALL THEY NEED TO OVERCOME THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF HOMELESSNESS. WE'VE DEVELOPED ONLINE TRAINING COURSES TO EQUIP NEW BOARD AND STAFF IN OUR LOCATIONS, AND AN ONLINE OPTION FOR NEIGHBORING VOLUNTEERS WHO ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND, IN PERSON, ONE OF THE TWO REQUIRED STRANGERS TO NEIGHBORS TRAINING SESSIONS PRIOR TO MEETING A NEIGHBORING FAMILY. WE ARE ALSO EXTREMELY PLEASED TO SHARE THAT OUR BOARD RECENTLY APPROVED A PILOT PROGRAM TO EXPLORE A NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR ENGAGING CHURCHES IN ENDING HOMELESSNESS, WITH THE GOAL OF RESEARCHING AND LEARNING HOW BEST TO SERVE OUR VULNERABLE NEIGHBORS. FINALLY, OUR ORGANIZATION MOVED TO A NEW OFFICE
