About

Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael of Atlanta is a yeshiva and college preparatory high school for boys in grades 9-12. Yeshiva Ohr Yisrael offers a strenuous curriculum of intensive text-based Talmud study, Chumash (Bible), Navi (Prophets), Jewish law, Hebrew language, and a strong emphasis on middos (character) development. The students attend the Beis Medrash evening program (night seder) in which other teens and adults from the general community participate. Core secular studies include math, English, science, history, computers, and physical education. This program stresses critical and independent thinking skills and offers the students a wide variety of educational opportunities. The mission is to foster within each young man a personal relationship with G_d and to instill a love of Torah learning in an environment of sanctity and respect. Through encouraging personal discipline in behavior and work ethics, the rebbiem strive to develop character traits and individual personalities within their students in an Orthodox Jewish framework. Students are encouraged to pursue post-high school Torah studies as well as other career paths.
