THE MISSION OF THE EAST TEXAS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA IS TO ENGAGE, EMBRACE, AND EXCITE THE EAST TEXAS COMMUNITY THROUGH INSPIRING MUSICAL PERFORMANCES. IN 2017-2018, THIS INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING: A. PERFORMED A SERIES OF FIVE SUBSCRIPTION SERIES ORCHESTRAL CONCERTS SERVING A CUMULATIVE AUDIENCE OF APPROXIMATELY 7,000.B. ENGAGED IN COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS THAT PROVIDED DISCOUNTED OR FREE TICKETS TO AREA STUDENTS FOR SELECTED PERFORMANCES (CUMULATIVE TOTAL OF APPROXIMATELY 1000).C. PRESENTATED DIVERSE MUSICAL PROGRAMS OUTSIDE OF THE ORCHESTRAL SERIES AT VARIOUS VENUES IN THE COMMUNITY. (SERVING APPROXIMATELY 2,000).D. PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL ENGAGEMENT THROUGH GUEST ARTIST STUDENT WORKSHOPS, PUBLIC PRE-CONCERT PROGRAMS, ONLINE PROGRAM NOTES AND RESOURCE LINKS.E.
