About this organization
Mission
Family Legacy is a faith-based, Christian, God-led organization that exists to glorify God by empowering vulnerable children in Zambia to live out their God-given potential. We do this by engaging more than 10,000 individuals and families from around the world with God’s heart for these children, face-to-face and heart-to-heart, through the power of God’s word, quality education and residential care. With almost 14,000 Zambian children attending one of our private Christian Legacy Academy schools, Family Legacy is not an orphanage or a missionary organization or an economic development organization. We are a unique NGO focused on caring for orphaned and vulnerable/at-risk Zambian children on a variety of levels.
About
Family Legacy owns and operates 24 private, Christian academies in 17 communities throughout Lusaka, Zambia. In these schools, students receive a high-quality education and social support through dedicated Zambian staff. Each student is supported by an American family or individual who sponsors them on a monthly or annual basis.
