Head Start - Middle Kentucky Community Action Partnership, Inc. (MKCAP) Head Start program helps to break the cycle of poverty by providing low-income families with preschool children a comprehensive program to meet their emotional, social, health, and psychological needs to support the families in 4 of the most impoverished counties in the United States. MKCAP's Head Start program has applied for a supplement grant to purchase two new buses desperately needed for the program to go with two others received in the previous fiscal year. We also received a COLA allotment of 1.77% as well as notification of another COLA of 2.4% for the next fiscal year. Middle Kentucky has also submitted a grant application to expand to Early Head Start which as of now, no decision has been made on its approval.
