About
During fiscal year 2018-2019 education was provided as follows: At Geneva Classical Academy, a total of 161 students were taught in the classical method of education in grades K4-12. The classical model used is distinct in content and methodology. In the elementary years, there is a focus on the grammar of each subject: Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, History, Science, Bible, and Foreign Language. The dialectic or middle school programs builds on subject mastery introducing logic and enabling students to assimilate facts. High school students are taught rhetoric skills to articulate their understanding and mastery of each subject. The academically rigorous classical curriculum was successful. Geneva students scored an average of one to two grades above the national average on standardized testing. Students were taught by a teacher in each classroom and maintained regular school hours: K4 8:00-12:30; K5 through 6th grades 8:00-2:45; and 7th through 12th grades 8:00-3:00. Geneva exceeded the minimum hours of instructional time required by Florida Statutes. School began on August 16, 2018 and ended on May 24, 2019.
