YOUNG STORYTELLERS COMPLETED TWO SEMESTERS, TOTALING 149 SESSIONS OF ITS MENTORING PROGRAMS DURING 2018. YOUNG STORYTELLERS COORDINATED AND ADMINISTERED THEIR PROGRAMS SUCCESSFULLY IN OVER 70 PUBLIC ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE, AND HIGH SCHOOLS ACROSS LOS ANGELES COUNTY. ADDITIONALLY, YOUNG STORYTELLERS PROVIDED THE SCRIPT TO STAGE PROGRAM TO 3 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN NEW YORK CITY, NY; 1 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN AUSTIN, TX; 1 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN SAN FRANCISCO, CA; AND 1 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN LITTLE ROCK, AK. APPROXIMATELY 2,000 CHILDREN PARTICIPATED AS STORYTELLERS, AND APPROXIMATELY 12,000 CHILDREN WERE SERVED OVERALL, INCLUDING THOSE ATTENDING THE IN-SCHOOL PERFORMANCES AND EVENTS.(SEE SCHEDULE O FOR FURTHER PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS)APPROXIMATELY 1,443 VOLUNTEER MENTORS PARTICIPATED IN YOUNG STORYTELLERS PROGRAMS DURING 2018 AND THESE MENTORS VOLUNTEERED OVER 25,974 HOURS OF THEIR TIME. IN ADDITION, APPROXIMATELY 1,201 ACTORS VOLUNTEERED AT IN-SCHOOL BIG SHOWS AND FOR FILM PROJECTS, AS PERFORMERS OF THE CHILDREN'S SCREENPLAYS, DONATING AN ADDITIONAL 3,603 HOURS OF THEIR TIME.DURING 2018, YOUNG STORYTELLERS PUBLISHED A 2018 ANNUAL REPORT, STRATEGIC PLAN FOR 2018-2021, SCRIPT TO STAGE HEAD MENTOR HANDBOOK, SCRIPT TO STAGE MENTOR HANDBOOK, SCRIPT TO STAGE STUDENT WORKBOOK, PARENT HANDBOOK, AND SCHOOL HANDBOOK. THESE WERE DISTRIBUTED TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES SERVED BY THE YOUNG STORYTELLERS PROGRAMS AND TO VOLUNTEERS AND FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTORS TO THE ORGANIZATION.
