Mission

To promote and advance the appreciation of purely transparent watercolor painting through education, exhibition and community service.

About

Watercolor West sponsors one international open juried exhibition for transparent watercolor paintings each year. An internationally known art judge chooses the art for the exhibit, giving the accepted artists recognition for their art. Generous awards are made to also encourage submissions. To further acknowledge mastering the use of transparent watercolors, artists who are chosen to show their art in three of the annual exhibits are given the right to use the initials, WW, in their painting signature. Work on the exhibit and its corresponding catalog is a year-long process. After the art and awards are chosen for the exhibit, a full-color catalog, featuring the art in the exhibit, is published. A CD of the exhibit is also made for sale to other organizations for educational purposes.
