Capital Partners for Education (CPE) mentors low-income high school and college students in the academic middle from the Washington, D.C. area to provide the skills and experiences they need to successfully complete college and to excel in the workforce.
About
Capital Partners for Education (CPE) provides low-income students in the D.C. metropolitan area with one to one mentors as well as academic and career programming to guide them to and through college, and into sustainable careers. CPE selects first-generation to college students in the academic middle who demonstrate the need for adult guidance to navigate college matriculation and completion. CPE serves students enrolled in partner high schools, including public, charter, and private schools. Private high school students receive partial high school scholarships, and public and charter high school students receive stipends for tuition, books and living expenses. For the high school class of 2019, 92% enrolled in college, and are eligible to continue to receive one to one mentoring and services related to academic persistence and career readiness through college graduation. CPE enrolls more than 470 students across 17 partner high schools and more than 80 different colleges throughout the country.
