Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Inc. specializes in end-of-life care. Care is provided to terminally ill patients and their families to enable them to live with dignity and hope while coping with loss and terminal illness. Our care team is an interdisciplinary team who work together to ensure the highest quality of care for both the patient and their family. The team includes physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, pastoral care and volunteers. Our staff are specially trained in pain and symptom management and disease process education. We cared for 2,203 patients in 2018, without regard for their ability to pay. We also have a hospice inpatient unit, which may be utilized for acute symptom management, in lieu of a hospital admission. The unit is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We served 797 patients in our hospice inpatient unit in 2018. As part of our services, in 2018 we provided grief support to 10,004 bereaved who experienced the loss of a loved one.
