Mission of Mercy Pittsburgh (MOM) is a free, two-day dental clinic for under-served people living in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area, many of whom are from working families who do not have access to dental work or cannot afford dental insurance. All services are provided free of charge by local dental professionals, assisted by a host of volunteers (over 1,100 in 2018). Treatments offered include: diagnosis by a dentist, x-rays, minor restorative fillings, simple prosthodontic procedures, extractions, root canals and cleanings. Non-opioid medications are provided per prescription on-site. Additionally, patients are connected to other agencies that are available for further treatment and are educated on the importance of good oral health.
