ALONG WITH A COALITION OF IMMIGRANT, CHILD, AND HEALTH ADVOCATES, WE SUCCESSFULLY PUSHED BACK AGAINST FEDERAL EFFORTS TO REPEAL THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT AND DISMANTLE MEDICAID AND SUCCESSFULLY ADVOCATED FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE CHILDREN'S HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM. TOGETHER, THESE PROGRAMS PROVIDE COVERAGE FOR MORE THAN 97% OF CALIFORNIA'S CHILDREN. WE LAUNCHED A MULTI-FACETED RESEARCH INITIATIVE TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE IMPACTS OF ANTI-IMMIGRANT RHETORIC AND IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT ON THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF CALIFORNIA'S CHILDREN, HALF OF WHICH - 4.5 MILLION - HAVE AT LEAST ONE IMMIGRANT PARENT. IN ADDITION, WE STRENGTHENED OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH SCHOOLS THROUGH THE LAUNCH OF OUR COMMUNITY EDUCATION INITIATIVE, LET'S TALK, WHERE WE REACHED OVER 1,000 FAMILIES IN THIRTY COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE STATE. WE ALSO WORKED TO IMPROVE EFFORTS TO COLLECT DATA FROM CHILDREN IN KINDERGARTEN TO HELP THEIR ORAL HEALTH THROUGH PASSAGE OF SB 379, A LAW THAT HELPS COMBAT ORAL HEALTH DISPARITIES IN ORDER TO STRENGTHEN ORAL HEALTH ACCESS FOR 535,000 CHILDREN IN KINDERGARTEN. WE FURTHERED OUR WORK TO UTILIZE THE POWER OF TECHNOLOGY TO SUPPORT ACCESS TO CARE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH THROUGH OUR SUPPORT AT THE LOS ANGELES HACKATHON AND FURTHER ADVOCACY AROUND TELEHEALTH POLICY SOLUTIONS.
