Mission

The mission of Child Advocates of Placer County is to be the bridge between the most vulnerable in our community and caring volunteers who want to make a difference.

About

Our mission is to be the bridge between the most vulnerable in our community and volunteers who make a difference. We serve our community through four volunteer driven programs: 1) Placer CASA, which provides court appointed special advocates (CASAs) to youth in foster care and youth in the juvenile delinquency/probation system, 2) Placer Mentors, which provides adult mentors for youth who are at risk of educational failure, or of entering the juvenile justice or child welfare systems, as well as former foster youth who have aged out of foster care, 3) Family Mentors, which assigns mentors to parents who are striving to rebuild their families and reunify with their children who are in the child welfare system, and 4) Prosper Placer, which utilizes community volunteers to help families move out of poverty by sharing knowledge, connections and friendship. In 2017-2018 our 252 volunteers served over 300 foster children (over 90% of all Placer County foster children), 40 at-risk youth and former foster youth, and 60 families.
