THE WORKSHOP GATHERED EXPERTS ON DIGITAL MEDIA AND CHILD DEVELOPMENT FROM DIVERSE PERSPECTIVES TO IDENTIFY RESEARCH GAPS AND OPPORTUNITIES THAT WILL ULTIMATELY LEAD TO MAXIMIZING BENEFITS AND MINIMIZING PITFALLS OF MEDIA EXPOSURE AND USE DURING EARLY CHILDHOOD. PANELISTS, LECTURERS, AND PARTICIPANTS INCLUDED EXPERTS IN POPULATION HEALTH, PEDIATRICS, CHILD DEVELOPMENT, COGNITIVE SCIENCE, NEUROSCIENCE, AND EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY DELIVERED LECTURES AND LED PANEL DISCUSSIONS."DIGITAL MEDIA AND DEVELOPING MINDS" CONGRESS - IN OCTOBER OF 2018, CHILDREN AND SCREENS HOSTED ITS SECOND "DIGITAL MEDIA AND DEVELOPING MINDS" CONGRESS WITH COLD SPRING HARBOR LABORATORY (CSHL), RECENTLY LISTED BY NATURE AS THE TOP SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH INSTITUTE. EXPERTS IN PSYCHOLOGY, NEUROSCIENCE, PUBLIC HEALTH, CHILD PSYCHIATRY, PEDIATRICS, NON-PROFITS, DATA SCIENCE, EDUCATION, MEDICINE, AND OTHERS CAME TOGETHER TO SHARE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE SURROUNDING THIS TOPIC. A NEW CONCURRENT TOOLS AND METHODOLOGIES EXPOSITION SHOWCASED STATE-OF-THE-ART TOOLS AND TECHNOLOGIES FOR USE BY THE RESEARCH COMMUNITY TO MEASURE MEDIA USE AND DEVELOPMENTAL OUTCOMES FROM EARLY CHILDHOOD THROUGH ADOLESCENCE.
