In 2018, Carebox Program continued to strengthen relationships with Austin area cancer clinics, providing 732 deliveries, often carload of critical supplies to local cancer patients. Patients came from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, many without the means to access these critical supplies without the support of this program. Carebox Program provides nutritional supplements, infection prevention supplies, and mobility items to assist patients in their homes throughout treatment. Community volunteers pack and deliver the careboxes directly to patients homes, allowing caregivers to stay where they are needed most, by the sides of their loved ones. The items provided are used on a daily basis to improve the quality of care for recipients. Carebox Program also partners with the Austin American Statesman to submit a family for the season for caring community outreach program.
