Fear 2 Freedom's (F2F) Hour 2 Empower is a 60-90-minute event which provides empowerment through hands-on service. The first half of the event includes an educational slideshow and video, as well as a speaker whose life was impacted by sexual violence. We cater the presentation to the college or university's requests, and it can include topics such as dating violence, sexual assault, consent, and how to support a friend in need. In the second half of Hour 2 Empower, students provide support to survivors by assembling F2F aftercare & icare kits (kit) that are then distributed to local hospitals and community resources and then subsequently provided to survivors of sexual assault. As the students pack the kits, they are reminded that a sexual assault victim, maybe even someone they know, could receive a kit that very night. The goal of Hour 2 Empower is not only to educate attendees but to also empower students to be the change in their communities.
