We open hearts, rehearse strategies for change and dispel dehumanizing narratives about people of color. Through 41 continuous seasons, still we rise.

Penumbra produced 4 plays during the 2018-19 season: For Colored Girls, Black Nativity, the world premiere of Benevolence, and, in partnership with Theater Mu, the co-production of the Brothers Paranormal. In February 2019 Penumbra celebrated Black History Month with the third installment of its Sunday Supper program.
