In 2019, we continued our work on finding ways to uncover and enact policy initiatives that promote the well-being of the state of Minnesota, and to involve diverse populations in issues that have an impact on them. The Capitol Pathways program was created to strengthen Minnesota government by making it more representative of the state's population. Despite growing diversity throughout Minnesota, people of color are largely absent from legislative decision making in the state. The program places students of color with organizations working at the state capitol to give students a hands-on legislative experience during the active session.
