In 2019, the NE WI Land Trust achieved these milestones: 1) Created Wequiock Creek Preserve through the purchase of 4 properties, increasing the protected land at Point Au Sable Natural Area by 40%. This project protects an area steeped in Native American history and first contact with Europeans, as well as nearly one mile of a sensitive stream. 2) Engaged 1,500 people across all activities including expert guided talks on the geology of the Fox River Valley, ecology of a trout stream, and history of Indian mounds. 3) Presented externally-recognized good-practice in community conservation at the International Great Lakes Conference. 4) Monitored all 42 conservancies.
