Tours are the hallmark of the Chicago Architecture Foundation, drawing 422,000 visitors from all over the globe by offering insights into Chicago's buildings, neighborhoods, and environments. CAF's tours are known for the high quality experience with 450 extensively trained volunteer docents. All of CAF's tours are conceptualized, researched, and written by docents, with new offerings each year. Tours include more than 80 distinct walking, boat, bus, el and bicycle tours and are conducted 363 days of the year. CAF opened a 20,000 sf architecture center and simultaneously rebranded as the Chicago Architecture Center (CAC) in late summer 2018. The center offers a skyscraper gallery, rotating exhibits and a new home for the Chicago City Model.
