Family Rescue is dedicated to eliminating domestic violence in the Chicago community by providing comprehensive support services and shelter to victims of domestic violence, particularly to abused women and their children; engaging in advocacy to promote future system change; and encouraging prevention through community education.
About
Rosenthal Family Lodge provided safe refuge and support services for victims of domestic violence and their children who were fleeing domestic violence. In FY 18 the program served 292 clients: 183 adults; and 109 children. Major accomplishments of the program included: 34% of residents relocated to permanent housing, and 69% of them were still permanently housed after 6 months; 69% left the program with income or financial resources; and 100% of the adult clients in shelter completed safety planning with an Advocate. 93% of children were enrolled in school within week of entering shelter; 59% of the children has fewer behavioral and emotional problems from program entry to exit; and 59% of parents reported that they had learned more about their child's needs and how to better support their child's growth and development.
