THE NYAKA AIDS ORPHANS PROJECT, INC. WORKS ON BEHALF OF HIV/AIDS ON ORPHANS IN RURAL UGANDA TO END SYSTEMIC DEPRIVATION, POVERTY AND HUNGER THROUGH A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATION, AND HELTHCARE. EDUCATION PROVIDED TO 801 STUDENTS DURING 2018 IN PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL. THIS CONSISTED OF PRIMARY EDUCATION, NUTRITIONAL AND GARDENING EDUCATION AS WELL AS VOCATIONAL TRAINING IN THE AREAS OF TAILORING AND BRICK-MAKING. ALL STUDENTS WERE TESTED FOR HIV/AIDS AND RECEIVED EDUCATION IN HYGIENE AND SANITATION. 7,301 GRANDMOTHERS LIVING WITH A TOTAL OF 43,000 CHILDREN WERE SUPPORTED IN CARING FOR HIV/AIDS ORPHANS. PROVIDED A HEALTH CLINIC THAT SERVES AN AVERAGE OF 955 PEOPLE EACH MONTH. THE CLEAN GRAVITY WATER SYSTEM SERVES AN AVERAGE OF 43,000 PEOPLE. OPERATE A 17 ACRE FARM WHICH GROWS FOOD TO PROVIDE ALL STUDENTS WITH TWO MEALS EACH DAY. NYAKA VOCATIONAL SECONDARY SCHOOL (NVSS) EDUCATED ITS THIRD CLASS OF 50 STUDENTS (TOTAL OF 130 STUDENTS IN 2018). NVSS COMPLETED CONSTRUCTION ON EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE MULTI-PURPOSE DINING HALL AND THE CHEMISTRY/PHYSICS LAB. THERE WERE 3,450 LIBRARY PATRONS IN 2018. THE GRANDMOTHER PROGRAM BUILT 38 COMPLETE HOMES (A HOUSE, SMOKELESS KITCHEN, AND PIT LATRINE), 50 SMOKELESS KITCHENS, AND 50 PIT LATRINES IN 2018. IN TOTAL, APPROXIMATELY 54,200 PEOPLE BENEFITED FROM THE ORGANIZATION IN 2018.
