The purpose of the pathways to recovery project is to provide support for Vermonters in opiate treatment and/or seeking help in maintaining recovery. Along with a project director and an administrator, eleven 1/2 time pathway guides provide peer support with work with Vermont's hub and spoke system treating individuals in medication assisted treatment. Pathway guides collect data on participants, facilitate MAT specific recovery groups, offer peer-to-peer support, and are available to help with transition to abstinence based recovery by introducing individuals to the peer-to-peer recovery communities who use this approach.
