Mission

Our mission is to provide civil legal aid and advocacy to combat unfairness and injustice and to help people rise out of poverty. OSLSA understands that racial equity must be centered in our work to promote excellence in the delivery of legal services to poor people the services areas. Our goal is to create a purpose-driven practice that employs strategic advocacy to advance racial justice in our communities. Our program’s vision is of “a just and fair society where we all have the opportunity to thrive and have lives free of poverty.” We acknowledge that we cannot do that without correcting those structures of institutional racism. We strive to uphold our mission by offering direct, civil legal aid services to low-income Ohioans from 6 regional offices serving 30 counties.
