Academy of Medical & Public Health Services is a not-for-profit health service organization with a triple aim to identify barriers to health and wellness in underserved immigrant communities; coordinate truly needed primary care with social assistance; and deliver care with dignity and empathy to marginalized New Yorkers. In 2018, the Community Health Project provided free health screenings, health consultations, social assistance, health literacy classes, and mental health counseling for 4932 community members. Services were administered through in-house open office hours, pop-up health events, as well as AMPHS' Annual Health Empowerment Celebration, which brought together 60+ organizations to share health and social service resources with the community. Grassroots outreach efforts through the health program reached over 10,000 individuals.
